2025 Exploratory Diving and Coral Restoration in Fiji
Come and dream with Dive Outdoors as we fly to paradise in the Fijian Islands!
This summer, Dive Outdoors will be flying with a select few to a unique boutique eco resort located on an island off the north coast of Vanua Levu. There, we will discover swaying coconut trees over a perfect coral sand beach, with diving and snorkeling opportunities not found in the rest of Fiji. Our destination is Nukubati Island Resort!
Nukubati is the only resort on the northern coast of Vanua Levu, the second largest island in Fiji. Thus, diving and snorkeling there will be a truly singular experience. We will be diving reefs where schools of fish, not seen elsewhere in Fiji, are in abundance. We will also be exploring dive sites never seen before on the Great Sea Reef! We thus have a unique opportunity to do a trip unlike any other. In the afternoon, following our morning dives, we will be constructing a new artificial coral reef. Yep! You read that right: we are doing a coral reef project! If you have ever wanted to learn about corals, how they grow, and what types are best for fish homes, this trip is for you!
For those who do not dive, Nukubati offers snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, hikes, cultural experiences, relaxing (not to be underestimated), and the opportunity of a picnic on a coral sand islet. There is plenty to do that is not diving related and you can join in with the coral project as well. When we visited this resort, we discovered what the word “vacation” truly meant. This is a resort where you can unwind, where you can discover inner peace, watching the sun dip below the horizon as the Southern Cross and Milky Way burst forth in all their glory. And to boot, you will be in Fiji, the land of smiles.
Schedule and Activities
Arrival and Transfer: Please book your flight through Dive Outdoors (via Fiji Airways) to assure that your itinerary is correct. Upon arrival in Fiji, we will be taking a local commuter plane to Labassa, on the northern island of Vanua Levu.
Daily Schedule:
Morning: Up to 2 guided dives on the Great Sea Reef.
Afternoon: Participation in coral restoration projects.
Non-diving activities available including snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and cultural experiences.
Included in the Price
7 nights in shared deluxe bures at Nukubati Island Resort.
All gourmet meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared with local ingredients.
Use of non-motorized beach activities: kayaks, stand-up paddle boards.
All diving activities as scheduled.
Complimentary activities for non-divers: snorkeling on dive trips + 2 one-hour massages.
Educational sustainability tour and cultural experiences like the Fijian medical walk and the coconut story.
Sustainability tour – see and learn about Nukubati’s solar power plant which was
established 34 years ago, the agro-forestry gardens from which the food is sourced, and the water harvesting system used to collect and store water.
